WE all need to speak our truth, have the tough conversations so we can heal as a community, as a nation. To give our children a better future.

I thought this session offered a great way to dissect my lessons to make sure it was truly trying to highlight the response to my students’ cultural identity.

I attended your Cultural Awareness training today. You caught my attention when you spoke about the students in the Stem Camp. I appreciate all the good you do for our students and community!

Today’s professional development was very informative, and provided me with time to interact with my colleagues from all over the city. Discussing how we teach from a critical viewpoint is very important to my practice.

I will put today’s learning into practices by layering text, by creating more experiences in my classroom and not just activities and by adding the student spark component into my lesson and executing it.

“Experiences are more powerful than activities…” I realized that my students have been most engaged in classwork when they have the opportunity to experience something new over just completing an activity they might have done in the past.
